Project 1: Concept Map of a Chapter in Textbook
The student will create a concept map using the software tool of their choice to visually illustrate associations and relationships between the ideas presented in the assigned chapter.

Project 2: Personal Technology SWOT Analysis, Goals, & Plan
Each student will write a short paper assessing their technology Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOTs).

Project 3: Tech Tip
Each student will present a brief Tech Tip or show & tell about a new technology innovation (hardware, software, web site, etc.) or will present a brief overview of an innovative technology project that has been implemented in a K-12 school.

Project 4: Professional Development Reading
Each student will locate and read a peer-reviewed article on an exemplary K-12 professional development program, preferably one focusing on instructional technology.

Project 5: The Big Three Questions
Each year countless amounts of new educational technology “stuff” hit the market. But, how much of it will actually impact students’ learning or make your life easier or more efficient? There are three questions you should always ask yourself (and all stakeholders in the innovation) before getting swept up in the “neato techno-tornado” of new and fancy technologies.

Project 6: Program & Portfolio Focus
Using the findings and goals derived from your SWOT analysis, as well as personal interests and reflections on issues covered in class, you will identify a personal thematic focus for the remainder of your Ed.S. program.

Project 7: Assigned Discussions & Postings
Each student will be responsible for posting thoughtful responses to the module’ discussion topic . Then replying in detail to at least 2 other discussion topics.

My Peer Reviews

David,
Out of all of the classes I took for this degree and my master's, I have learned more and been inspired more by you than any other student I have encountered! I would have loved to work on a team with you. I am flattered by your compliments and the feeling is mutual. I pray many blessings for you and your family! I have my last class in the fall, so we will probably not encounter each other again. Keep my personal email in case you have any questions or need to bounce something off of someone. pjkraj@gmail.com
Wishing you His peace,

My Closing Reflection

I agree with Patsy, it has been a wonderful to work with peers at this graduate level where people are focused and working hard.

As far as educational change I would integrate life skills more into the educational equation. Time management, productivity tools, and technology integration are a few example that might help students realize better outcomes. I think we have all seen students who are brilliant but lack the practical skills to show up on time, bring a lunch, or plan ahead to get their work turned in on time. Moreover, students should be challenged to integrate healthy lifestyles into their education enabling them to think more clearly, have more energy, and miss fewer days of school due to illness.

I think it would be great to celebrate excellence and diversity by aggressively involving students to search out best practices and tech tips. Think what a concerted effort of dozens, hundreds, or thousands of minds honed in on a continual search for better ways to learn, to comute, to be productive, to solve problems in their school and community, and then reward these students accordingly. The inspirational / motivational value would be incredible. Then perhaps the standardized testing outcomes that Patsy spoke of in her post would be see significant changes.

Thanks to all for a wonderful experience in this class. David
